Tommy's "Oh Dang" Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars

An SF O'Brien family favorite.


Ingredients:

  • 3 T. unsalted butter
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • ½ cup graham crackers, crushed
  • ¾-1 cup powdered sugar (depends how sweet you want it)
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • ½ T coconut or peanut oil

Instructions:

  1. On medium heat, melt and slightly brown the butter in a small pot. Add peanut butter and immediately remove from heat. Stir until peanut butter is melted and mixed with butter. Add the crushed graham crackers and stir until mixed. Add the powdered sugar and stir until mixed.

  2. Line a cookie sheet or Pyrex that will fit in your friends with parchment paper. Spread the mixture evenly over the parchment. About 1/2” thick.

  3. In a microwave safe bowl, melt the chocolate and peanut/coconut oil in 20 second bursts until melted. Stir every 2-3 bursts.

  4. Pour and spread the chocolate on top of the peanut butter mixture. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt.

  5. Refrigerate for 1-2 hours, or until both layers are fully set. Scarf.
