Graham Crack

A Fox family favorite.


Ingredients:

  • Enough graham crackers or digestives to cover the pan
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • ½ teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/3 cup toffee bits (optional)
  • 1/3 cup of crushed almonds or peanuts (optional)

  1. Preheat oven to 350F
  2. Line a 9×13-inch pan with aluminum foil and spray with cooking spray.
  3. Place crackers or digestives into a single layer on the pan, covering the buttom entirely.
  4. In a saucepan add butter, brown sugar, salt. Heat over medium until melted, stirring constantly.
  5. Cook for 4-5 minutes, stirring constantly to avoid burning. Mixture should soon resemble a caramel.
  6. Pour mixture over crackers.
  7. Bake for 7 minutes, until the edges bubble.
  8. Remove from oven, cover the top with chocolate chips, return to oven to bake for about 2 minutes or until chocolate has melted.
  9. Once removed, you can optionally top with toffee bits or peanuts.
  10. Let cool for 2 hours, until chocolate has set.
